Ethics and Malpractice
Only articles that have not previously been published or been submitted concurrently elsewhere will be considered for publication.
Submissions outside the scope and profile of Acta Missiologiae will not be considered for publication. The authors will be informed if their manuscript is submitted for the peer-review process. Each author will take full responsibility for the content of the published materials and for the authenticity of the used material.
Acta Missiologiae holds the copyright for the published materials.
Relationships between authors, editors and reviewers in our journal are based on academic benevolence, objectivity of ratings and priority of scholarly quality. We are following the principles of Code of Conduct for Editors (http://publicationethics.org/files/Code_of_conduct_for_journal_editors_1.pdf) as defined by the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE) (https://publicationethics.org/) .
The Editor and the Editorial Board must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and other editorial advisers, as appropriate. Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They will be stored securely in the CEEAMS Cloud, according to the GDPR policies of CEEAMS. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the Editor. Reviews should be conducted objectively and with respect. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable. When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper. [1]
The Editor is responsible for the final decision concerning which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The Editor may be guided by the counsel of the journal’s Editorial Board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
